Food Safety Training in Queensland (QLD)
In Queensland, food safety is governed by the Food Act 2006 (Qld). Local councils licence and inspect most food businesses, while Queensland Health sets policy and Safe Food Production Queensland regulates primary production such as meat, dairy, seafood and eggs.
Licensed food businesses must have a Food Safety Supervisor with a current certificate on site during operation. Food handlers need appropriate skills and knowledge, typically gained through the nationally recognised unit SITXFSA005.
